About University of The Fraser Valley
The Fraser Valley is located just east of Vancouver, British Columbia, and just five minutes north of the USA border. Its mild weather, thriving cities, and breathtaking scenery provide an exceptional quality of life. It is the perfect place to live and study. The Fraser Valley is growing quickly and is one of Canada’s most ethnically diverse regions. Like cities throughout Canada, it is a safe and friendly place for international students to live and study. Even during the winter months, the Fraser Valley remains green, averaging 12 days of snowfall a year. You can enjoy nature year-round, choosing from various fun activities, including hiking, swimming, biking, rafting, golfing, fishing, and snowboarding.
Campus
The Abbotsford campus is UFV’s main campus, located in the third most diverse city in Canada. This campus features classroom and office spaces, a large library, a cafeteria, a non-smoking, four-floor residence with 102 double occupancy suites, a bookstore, a sports centre, and a new 50,000 square foot student centre that integrates student activities and campus life with key academic and administrative offices.
City Conditions
In winter, the Fraser Valley occasionally plays a significant role in the weather regime along the west coast of North America as far south as California, acting as a natural outlet for the intensely cold Arctic air mass which typically sits over Western Canada during winter.
